The Bob Falkner Education Fund Committee is up and running! We
have established guidelines and requirements for grant applications. Grant
request forms are now available here
Grant applications will be accepted year round, however, grants will only be awarded twice a year. Recipients will be selected by the committee in the Spring and in the Fall. To begin with, the maximum grant request amount will be $500. Our long range plan is to grow this fund with the goal of continuing it in perpetuity. Hopefully, in the future, it will be possible to fund larger amounts.
The committee has written our mission statement and it reads as follows:
The Bob Falkner Education Fund was established in November of 2022 in conjunction with the Washington Tree Farm Program. WTFP is a non-profit 501(c)3 with the goal of providing support for forestry educational programs in Washington State. This fund was set up to honor Bob’s memory and his love of forestry education. Bob held key roles within WTFP as well as many other forestry programs. In 2003, the Falkner Family was recognized as the National Outstanding Tree Farmers of the
Year. In memory of Bob, grant requests are open to all tree farmers, organizations and individuals who offer forestry education opportunities for the people of Washington State. The Bob Falkner Education Committee has the responsibility to develop and oversee allocation of these funds.
