Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. UI/WSU 29th Annual Family Foresters Workshop. 8:30 – 5PM. Online via ZOOM. Unique skills are required of individuals who help family forest owners manage their property. This program is designed to 1) strengthen the skills of consulting foresters, state-employed service foresters, and other natural resource professionals who work with family forest owners, and 2) Serve as a forum to provide updates on emerging technology and knowledge applicable to family forestry. Topics will include: Douglas fir Tussock Moth; Root Disease Issues in Ponderosa Pine; Family Forest Owners and Fire – Sociological Issues; Smoke Management on Family Forests; Considerations with Camera Trapping & Reducing theft; Plotting and Communicating Individual Leave Trees with GPS Technology; Drones: More than Aerial Imagery; Forest Bee Pollinators; Forest Habitat For Wolverines, Fishes, Lynx And Other Meso-Carnivores; Family Forest Economics/Policy Update.
