Cougar and Bear Awareness Remote Training

Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh My!  Cougar and Bear Awareness Remote Training.

Join Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife staff and WSU Extension for an interactive zoom meeting before your next trip down the yellow brick road and into the enchanted forest near you!

When: September 24 (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m.

The training will cover:

• cougar & bear biology & identification

• hiking & setting up camp in cougar and bear country

• What to do if you encounter a cougar or a bear

• use of bear spray

• bear spray first aid

• other tips

• tools you can use at home to reduce conflicts with bears.

Have your questions on wildlife conflicts answered by the local professionals!

You will also witness bear spray deployed from a cougar/bear snout view.

The presentation will be given via Zoom.us, and will be interactive.

Questions are encouraged. There will be a strict limit on 45 participants this session.
